5K Run / 1 Mile Fun Walk

9:00 p.m. (following worship)
Registration beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Gather in front of the Striplin Fitness Center at BSC

  • $20 Early Bird Registration (by May 15) to Guarantee T-Shirt
     
  • $30 Late Registration 


Prizes will be awarded for top finishers and top fundraisers. Participants will receive t-shirts while supplies last.

All proceeds will benefit the Mission 2 Gather mission agencies and mission congregations of the North Alabama Conference working together to engage persons in mission and ministry to those in need.

 Support Mission 2 Gather

There are several ways you can support this fundraising event.

1. Register to participate in the 5K as a runner or walker.

  • Until May 15, the Early Bird Registration fee (which guarantees you a t-shirt ) is $20. Registration on or after May 16 is $30 and t-shirts will be available on a first-come first-served basis.

2. Enlist Sponsors

  • As a runner / walker you are also encouraged to enlist sponsors to help raise funds for Mission 2 Gather. 
     
  • You can also ask your sponsors to donate online using a credit card, debit car or Paypal account and note that the donation should be credited to you.  They can make their donation at https://na-reg.brtapp.com/2014Mission2Gather5K

3. Make a donation.

  • As a sponsor, you pledge to donate money in honor of someone’s participation in the 5k.  If you don’t know a runner / walker you can also make a general donation to the fundraiser. You decide how much you want to donate.

A Note from Bishop Wallace-Padgett:

One of the opportunities to fund some of our missions’ ministries is through the 5K run at Annual Conference. Most of the District Superintendents and I participated in the run this past year.

Each District Superintendent has agreed to do so again if 10 people from a district sign up or if $1000 is raised from their district. However, we have added a way for a District Superintendent to opt out if he/she so desires. If the District Superintendent raises more money than their District, he/she gets to ride one of Birmingham Southern College's golf carts.

I can imagine now some of the District Superintendents riding on golf carts bantering with their less fortunate colleagues who are running. I invite you to join me in making the 5K run a priority. I am still deciding if I will bring my running shoes to Annual Conference or ride a golf cart. Either way it will be great fun for a wonderful cause. I hope to see you there.
