Charter Church and Wheeler Award deadline is April 10

Each year at Annual Conference, the North Alabama Conference Commission on Archives and History presents Charter Church Awards and the Annie Ford and Glynn Wheeler Award. Nominations for both recognitions are now open until April 10, 2017.

Charter Church Award

If your church is a currently active United Methodist Church in the North Alabama Conference, and was founded before 1870 it might qualify for recognition as a Charter Church. A Charter Church might have been established in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, Methodist Episcopal Church, Methodist Protestant Church, United Brethren or the Methodist Central Jurisdiction. Click here for more information. If your church qualifies, complete the application and submit it and the appropriate supporting information to Dr. Guy Hubbs before April 10, 2017.

Annie Ford and Glynn Wheeler Award

Each year, the Wheeler Award is presented to an individual who has contributed significantly to the preservation of the rich historical heritage of the North Alabama Conference and its churches. Click here for more information. If you wish to nominate someone for consideration, please complete the nomination form and submit it to Dr. Guy Hubbs before April 10, 2017.
