Disaster Response Update: Fairfield Tornado (Updated July 6, 2017)

Update: July 6, 2017

The city of Fairfield is needing Clean-up Teams to assist the survivors of the most recent tornado.Tasks are to help remove drywall, paneling, etc. that has developed mold.

Volunteers are to report to the Wright Center, 6501 Aaron Aranov Drive, Fairfield AL 35064.

Bring your own tools and cleaning supplies. If you would like to have UMCOR Cleaning Buckets contact the Northwest District Disaster Response Warehouse at 256-642-1759.

Update: June 26, 2017

We have received a request for the following supplies:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Paper products
  • Gatorade

Items should be delivered to the Wright Center, 6501 Aaron Aranov Drive, Fairfield AL 35064.
 

June 23, 2017

Fairfield in western Jefferson County was hit by an F-2 tornado on Thursday, June 22, 2017.

They are requesting the following assistance:

Supplies: Tarps, Non-Perishable Food Items, Water and Gatorade delivered to 6501 Aaron Aronov Drive, Midfield, Alabama 35064.

Volunteers: Debris Removal Teams, Chain Saw Teams and Tarping Teams will be needed on Saturday, June 24. Please report at 8:30 a.m. to the Volunteer Reception Center located at 6501 Aaron Aronov Drive, Midfield, Alabama. You Must come as Teams. They are not accepting spontaneous unaffiliated volunteers. Wear either our Green Conference Disaster Response T-Shirts, or your local church T-Shirts, or plain solid white T-Shirts to Identify you as a volunteer.
