According to the 2016 Book of Discipline ¶35: “The clergy delegates to the General Conference and to the jurisdictional or central conference shall be elected from the clergy members in full connection and shall be elected by the clergy members of the annual conference or provisional annual conference who are deacons and elders in full connection, associate members, and those provisional members who have completed all of their educational requirements and local pastors who have completed course of study or an M. Div. degree and have served a minimum of two consecutive years under appointment immediately preceding the election.”
This means all North Alabama ordained elders and deacons in full connection are eligible to be elected as delegates to General and Jurisdictional Conference and therefore each clergy name will appear on the official ballot. Those clergy who feel a calling and desire to serve as a clergy delegate and who are willing to make the commitment to serve on the North Alabama Conference delegation are encouraged to fill out this self-nomination form to help other clergy learn more about them. This submitted information plus a picture of that person will be printed in the 2019 North Alabama Conference PreConference Book (Journal vol. 1).
This self-nomination process shall in no way limit the voting to those clergy who nominate themselves.
Each clergyperson should submit her/his nomination on the Clergy Delegate Nomination Form.
Online forms are the preferred method. All information must be provided as requested on the form.
A high-resolution photo of the nominee should be mailed or e-mailed following the submission of this form no later than March 1, 2019, to email@example.com, or mail photo to:

The 2019 PreConference Book (Journal vol. 1) will include nominees’ statements and pictures. All clergy members of 2019 Annual Conference will receive a copy of this publication prior to the Annual Conference gathering.
Nominees’ statements and pictures will also be posted on the North Alabama Conference website by April 1, 2019.
