Kids Camp

Kids’ Camp for children ages 3 years and older will take place at Center Grove United Methodist Church, 185 Plummer Rd, Huntsville AL 35806. This is approximately 12 minutes from the Von Braun Center. An on-site nursery will be available for children younger than 3 years at the Von Braun Center.

Children must be pre-registered to participate in Kids’ Camp, Nursery and Childcare during Annual Conference. This is to help secure proper space, meals, snacks and staffing.

The Pre-Registration deadline is May 31.
 

Kids’ Camp is a great opportunity to involve your children in Annual Conference. Children from birth through those who have completed sixth grade are welcome to participate if a parent, grandparent or legal guardian is in attendance at Annual Conference.

Kids’ Camp is staffed by professional children’s ministers and volunteer staff. All staff and volunteers are trained in Safe Sanctuaries policies and have up-to-date background checks.
 

Kids’ Camp Hours

• Wednesday — 3 p.m.-9 p.m.
• Thursday — 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Friday — 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Kids’ Camp will remain open until 30 minutes after the end of each session.
 

Kids’ Camp Registration

The cost is $80 per child and includes meals, snacks and a T-shirt. Registration is not complete until payment is received.

After you complete the online registration, a confirmation email will provide a link to forms that must be printed, completed and turned in at Kids’ Camp check-in. The confirmation email will also allow you to edit your Kids’ Camp registration before arrival, so please save it. Any changes must be made by May 31, 2022.
 

Transportation

Transportation using church vans and buses will be provided between the Von Braun Center and Center Grove UMC for children participating in Kids’ Camp. This includes vans equipped for car seats. You must indicate on your registration if your child will utilize the provided transportation.

In accordance with North Alabama Conference Safe Sanctuaries policies, transportation vehicles will have at least two adults who have completed Safe Sanctuaries training and a recent background check. Additionally, drivers will have completed a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.

Exact transportation schedules will be posted here prior to Annual Conference. Plans are to provide an early bus on Thursday and Friday mornings so parents and guardians may participate in the COSROW and Laity Breakfasts.
 

Check-In/Check-Out

Children must be checked in and out each day by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian. Photo identification may be required.

Children participating in Kids’ Camp may be checked in and out at Center Grove UMC or at the Von Braun Center South Hall lobby across from the Registration Desk if utilizing provided transportation.
 

Childcare for Worship Services

Childcare is available for individual worship services including Opening Worship/the Service of Licensing, Commissioning and Ordination on Wednesday and Closing Worship/Celebration of Life Service on Friday.

Childcare for ages 3 and older will be at Center Grove UMC. Transportation between Center Grove and the Von Braun Center is not available for individual services. Check-in and check-out at Center Grove for each service is as follows:

• Wednesday Opening Worship/Ordination Service
  • ​Check-in after 6 p.m.
  • Check-out by 9 p.m.
• Friday Closing Worship/Celebration of Life Service
  • ​Check-in after 1 p.m.
  • Check-out by 5 p.m.

Pre-registration by May 31, 2022, is required to ensure proper space and staffing. If a child is participating in Kids’ Camp no additional registration or payment is needed.
