Archives and History
The Commission meets its purpose, first, by preserving the records of the conference, its churches, ministers and some of its notable laity; of organizations within the conference; and of closed churches. These records are preserved and organized at the North Alabama Conference Archives, located in the Birmingham-Southern College Library.
The Commission also meets its purpose of providing a foundation on which to build by supporting the North Alabama Conference Historical Society, especially in sponsoring regular presentations at churches across the conference.
Finally, the Commission meets its purpose by sponsoring publications, such as the 290-page anthology For Jerusalem’s Sake, I Will Not Rest: 150 Years of Methodists at Work in North Alabama.

Conference Archivist to offer weekly series of "Sesquicentennial Moments" to celebrate North Alabama Conference's 150 year anniversary
This year, 2020, marks 150 years since the North Alabama Conference was founded. A sesquicentennial is often a time used to look back with pride at what has been accomplished.
