Avondale United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a part-time Organist. The primary responsibilities of the organist are to provide appropriate music for a weekly service of worship that is aligned to the liturgical and/or scriptural message of the day, as well as accompanying choral anthems and leading congregational hymns. Other responsibilities include playing for special seasonal worship services, accompanying a seasonal children’s choir, and playing for weddings and funerals as the need arises. This is an 8-10 hour per week position. All candidates shall be asked to demonstrate proficiency through an informal audition process. The organ is a 13-rank instrument built in 1930 by E.M.
