GraceKids Child Development Center welcomes children ages 6 weeks through Pre-K4 in a caring Christian environment. We believe childhood presents a “once in a lifetime: opportunity to help children form foundations that will serve them well as they grow and mature into school-aged children and even into adulthood. Our teachers use enrichments and play-based learning to facilitate growth socially, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and academically. GraceKids was founded in July of 2018 to enhance Grace’s ability to live out its mission of “strengthening families” and “making disciples.” Position Summary The Comptroller will be responsible for recording, filing, and maintaining all financial transactions for the Church. The Comptroller will run monthly, quarterly, and annual reports from the database system. This position requires discretion and confidentiality in matters of individual and family giving as well as Human Resources. This person will also provide accurate financial reporting for GraceKids. The Comptroller reports directly to the Senior Pastor. Skills Requirements • Strong knowledge of general ledger • Strong organizational skills • Experience working in a financial & accounting software database • Experience in bank reconciliation • Proficiency in data entry • Proficiency working with the Microsoft Office suite including MS Word and Excel • Attention to detail and precision in report generation • A willingness to learn • Dependable • Understands and embraces the confidentiality requirements of the position Job Requirements • Manage member contributions – Verify and enter contributions through accounting software database • Prepare and make weekly deposit • Process online receipts in to appropriate funds within accounting software • Manage accounts payable – pay all approved invoices • Record pledges made during annual stewardship campaign and maintain associated database • Prepare quarterly and year-end financial contribution information • Process staff debit card receipts and balance checking account daily • Process payroll biweekly • Secure and maintain all W-9’s • Process year-end 1099’s and W-2’s • File monthly & quarterly state & federal payroll tax returns and remit withholdings • Assist Senior Pastor in annual budget development • Maintain vendor records • Work with staff and vendors to ensure that building and grounds are maintained and in good repair • Ongoing review and evaluation of vendor contracts to determine if less expensive options are available • Maintain, secure, and oversee HR files • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the Senior Pastor • File annual sales tax exemption renewal applications Terms of Employment This is a salaried position requiring 20-25 hours per week.
