Rev. Jimmy Holmes

Retired Local Pastor Rev. Jimmy Holmes died yesterday surrounded by his family at "Bethany House" in Auburn.

Visitation will be held this Thursday, June 25 from 5-8 pm at Quattelbaum's Funeral Home in Roanoke with the funeral at 2 pm on Friday, June 26 at First United Methodist Church of Wadley (371 Highland Avenue).

Bishop Will Willimon says, “Jimmy Holmes served as a dedicated pastor of churches in the Southeast District of our Conference. We are grateful for this service.  His wife Kay also served as the lay speaking director of the Southeast District.  We give thanks for the Holmes family and their ministry. And we remember Kay in our prayers during this time.”

During his ministry Rev. Holmes served Blacks Chapel, Bethlehem Campground and Abanda United Methodist Churches.  He retired in 2006.
