Rev. Clarence Rice

Retired Local Pastor Rev. Clarence Rice died earlier this week.

The arrangements are as follows:

  • Visitation will be Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Smith and Gaston, Birmingham (Southside)
  • Memorial service will be Monday, May 17, 1 p.m., St. Paul UMC – Downtown Birmingham.
  • Interment at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Midfield.

During his 26 years in ministry he served Mount Moriah; Mason Chapel; and Pleasant Grove (Hanceville) UMCs. He retired in 2008.

Bishop Will Willimon says, “Rev. Rice was well known and well loved – as were the delicious meals he made for Strengthening the Black Church events. He was very effective in ministry serving churches as a local pastor. We will miss him. We remember his wife Jesse and his children in our prayers during this time.”

Please keep the Rice family in your prayers.
