Retired Elder Rev. Elton Beasley died Sunday, October 24, 2010. He was 85 years old.
Bishop Willimon says, “We give thanks for the life and ministry of Rev. Elton Beasley. He was a faithful leader and pastor to churches throughout our Conference. His dedication to ministry continued as he served beyond retirement at Gadsden First for the last 20 years. We are truly thankful for that service.”
Rev. Beasley was ordained an elder in 1963. During his ministry he served Rogers Ct; Oakland; Graysville; Northport First; Wilson Chapel; Trussville; East Gadsden; and Alberta UMCs. He retired in 1990. For the past 20 years since his retirement, Rev. Beasley has been the Minister to Adults at Gadsden First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie Mae; son, Wayne; and daughter, Patsy; and several grandchildren.
