Disability Awareness Sunday

Why celebrate Disability Awareness Sunday?

Because The United Methodist Book of Discipline  ¶ 265.4 states: “Disability Awareness Sunday shall be observed annually on a date to be determined by the annual conference. Disability Awareness Sunday calls the Church to celebrate the gifts and graces of persons with disabilities and calls the Church and society to full inclusion of persons with disabilities in the community.”

How can we help?

The North Alabama Confernece Disability Ministries Team can offer resources to help you plan your Disability Awareness Sunday. These include, but are not limited to: Sample Bulletin; Sample Sermons; Responsive Reading; Pictures for Bulletin; Stories of People with Disabilities in Methodism; Speakers for "Awareness Moments;" and/or Speaker to preach the Awareness message.
