Ukraine FAQ from UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)
Disaster Response
The North Alabama Conference Disaster Response Team works to help churches and volunteers be the hands and feet of Christ to their neighbors following a disaster. Through disaster preparedness resources, Early Response Team training and deployment and long-term recovery efforts, our Disaster Response ministry allows North Alabama United Methodist volunteers to be among the first on the scene and to continue to serve for the long haul to help people rebuild their lives.
Working with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), we are part of a connection that helps provide God’s hope, healing and renewal to people affected by disaster not only here in Alabama but also across the United States and all around the world.
The Disaster Response Warehouse in Decatur collects and distributes disaster response supplies. Using UMCOR standards, the Warehouse and its volunteers are part of a network which efficiently gets disaster response supplies and kits to areas of need.
