For the 2022 Annual Conference, the Executive Planning Team is seeking to hire an Annual Conference Kids Camp and Childcare Director who will oversee all aspects of Kids Camp and childcare during Annual Conference.
The team also worked strategically to ensure that it would not be a burden on adults to acquire supplies for the activities. They aimed for things that were easily found in homes and backyards.
Over the last few weeks, a coalition of local church children’s leaders has been busy as bees working on the VBS theme and planning details. They are thrilled to announce this summer’s conference-wide virtual VBS: “Little Bugs, Big Impact: Big and Small, God Uses Us All!”
Exit 456, an overnight retreat for 4th, 5th and 6th graders sponsored by the North Alabama Conference, will be March 17-18, 2017, at Sumatanga. The event features dynamic speakers, worship experiences and games. The worship and teaching times are designed so that 4th-6th graders can attend for three years and enjoy a new, exciting experience each year. It can serve as a retreat for your church's confirmation class or simply as a tween retreat. Does your church have a child care center? Al.com reports at least 400 child care centers affiliated with churches in Alabama will face new regulations, including an annual state inspection, under a new federal law.
<p> Does your worship service include a small amount of time when the children come forward for a “children’s message?” Have you ever felt like <em>that</em> sermon was better than the one delivered by your pastor? Perhaps your place of worship has a separate service designed for the children? Have you ever attended <em>that</em> service and felt the presence of God more than you did in the “adult” worship service? </p>
<p> In the course of many Safe Sanctuary training sessions the question has been raised, “Given the 2 NON-RELATED adult rule, should husbands and wives serve together?” My answer to that question is a resounding <span style="font-size:14px;">YES</span>! Not only are men of God needed as role models for our children, but godly marriages need to be observed by our children. According to scripture (and Safe Sanctuary policy) married couples are counted as ONE person. Applying the two adult rule means you must add a third body or employ a floater. But by all means, pair husbands and wives together as often as possible!</p> <p> I recently witnessed this plan in action at my own church...</p>
