The Annual Conference planning team and Cabinet are hard at work making plans for an enjoyable and meaningful 2021 meeting.
Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the in-person North Alabama Annual Conference scheduled for June 6-8, 2021, will be adapted to once again be a shorter, virtual meeting.
We did it! We accomplished a meaningful virtual Annual Conference. This virtual alternative to an in-person meeting allowed us to safely Conference together in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Saturday, September 26, 2020, North Alabama United Methodists gathered in front of computers, tablets, cell phones and other internet-connected screens for their first virtual Annual Conference.
One of our four Conference priorities, “Ministry with the Poor” will be highlighted throughout the day. Each local church will have the opportunity to financially support this priority by participating in the Annual Conference special offering designated for QuadW Missional Internship.

Bishop Wallace-Padgett states, “While this second postponement for our Annual Conference meeting is disappointing for all of us, our leadership feels strongly that we must proceed in a manner that prioritizes the health and safety of our Annual Conference members and communities.”
Bishop Wallace-Padgett said, “The Annual Conference Planning Team and Conference Leadership Team are working with the appropriate entities to postpone Annual Conference to a time when we anticipate that it will be safe for large gatherings."
A decision regarding holding this called annual conference will be announced after General Conference and information regarding the session will be distributed to all clergy and lay members of the Annual Conference.
Petitions and resolutions to be presented to the North Alabama Annual Conference must be in the hands of the Conference Secretary no later than February 1 each year.
Any report that requires action by the Annual Conference not received by the annual February 1, deadline may be considered for distribution during the 2020 Annual Conference at the discretion of the Director of Connectional Ministries and/or the Conference Secretary.
