On Saturday, September 26, 2020, North Alabama United Methodists gathered in front of computers, tablets, cell phones and other internet-connected screens for their first virtual Annual Conference.
One of our four Conference priorities, “Ministry with the Poor” will be highlighted throughout the day. Each local church will have the opportunity to financially support this priority by participating in the Annual Conference special offering designated for QuadW Missional Internship.
The Annual Conference planning team has been flexible and grace-filled through all of the twists and curves that 2020 has brought us. I invite you to join me in offering a prayer of gratitude for our Annual Conference planning team and their wisdom and patience.
Bishop Wallace-Padgett states, “While this second postponement for our Annual Conference meeting is disappointing for all of us, our leadership feels strongly that we must proceed in a manner that prioritizes the health and safety of our Annual Conference members and communities.”
