Trinity UMC (South Central District) hosted the 2023 Leading Edge Youth Ministry Gathering and welcomed 57 youth workers from around the country for a time of learning, discussing and worshipping together.
The conference is held annually to help youth develop their spiritual, leadership and interpersonal skills.
The summer missions camp brings in church youth groups to paint houses, repair exteriors, complete small projects and build relationships with neighbors in the West End area of Birmingham.

Last weekend more than 700 students attended the 30th annual Behold Retreat. Rev. John Hill shares how Behold is discovering, developing and deploying young spiritual leaders.
For 48 hours, participants who live in SIFAT’s simulated urban slum are challenged to interact with characters played by staff and volunteers in order to meet their basic needs of food, water, and shelter. After the experience, participants are challenged to reflect on what their new connection with the developing world means for them. This event is a great opportunity to connect students to areas in our world that they may never get to experience otherwise.
