“So our mission in Higher Ed is to offer places for all people, all students on our campuses — not just Methodists, not just Christians, for that matter — but all people to discover their God-given identity as they fulfill a God-designed purpose."
Students who are members of The United Methodist Church and planning to attend a United Methodist-related school, college, university, or seminary full-time are eligible to apply.
The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation provides more than $2 million in scholarships every year to United Methodist students attending UM-related institutions of higher education.
Festivities will include messages from United Methodist students, spotlights of UM-related institutions of higher education, interactive activities, messages from prominent leaders, and more.
For both new and returning students, however, Wesley Foundations at colleges across North Alabama provide a place to connect on campus. These United Methodist campus ministries have spent the summer making plans to adapt to the different realities of campus life this fall.
This annual scholarship begins with $1,000 from a student’s local church, which is matched by UMHEF as well as a participating UM-related school and the North Alabama United Methodist Foundation, Inc. This adds up to be a potential award of up to $4,000.
Applications are now being taken for BSC's United Methodist Scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year. www.umcna.org/postdetail/7258886#sthash.u9PeO7P0.dpuf
