Ragan Chapel UMC building destroyed by March 25 tornado; Congregation determined to rebuild

On Palm Sunday 2021, the members of Ragan Chapel UMC gathered for Sunday morning worship. They could not gather in their beloved church building because just a few days earlier it had been destroyed by an EF-2 tornado that also killed five people in the Ohatchee community. On Thursday, March 25, 2021, multiple tornadoes left paths of destruction across Alabama. In Calhoun County, five lives were lost.
