Update: July 6, 2017 The city of Fairfield is needing Clean-up Teams to assist the survivors of the most recent tornado.Tasks are to help remove drywall, paneling, etc. that has developed mold. Volunteers are to report to the Wright Center, 6501 Aaron Aranov Drive, Fairfield AL 35064. Bring your own tools and cleaning supplies. Your North Alabama Conference Disaster Response & Recovery Team is launching our new communication tool, NAC-NAV. NAC-NAV is short for North Alabama Conference Navigators. This is a "text service" for Emergency Communications. North Alabama Conference Disaster Response Coordinator Rev. Randy Burbank shares the following message he received from the Mississippi Conference. On Sunday, April 30, 2017, 26 tornadoes struck middle Mississippi and damaged 600 homes. One hundred of those homes were destroyed. This week volunteers at the United Methodist Disaster Response Warehouse in Decatur responded to a request from the Mississippi Conference Disaster Coordinator and sent four trailer loads of needed supplies. In mid-2016, volunteers at the United Methodist Disaster Warehouse in Decatur devised and began making a collection of disaster response items they call a “Tornado Bucket.” It contains items that frequently have been requested of them following tornados. Today we are very pleased to share that because of our corporate effort as United Methodists our Warehouse system now has sufficient Cleaning Buckets.
