Aldersgate UMC and partner congregations celebrate Biker Sunday to help Children's Hospital

On September 22, 2019, Aldersgate UMC in Dora, Alabama,  (Central District) sponsored their 2nd Annual Biker Sunday. Fifty-six people attended and raised $600 for Children's Hospital of Alabama. Gary Harris a Lay Member of the Aldersgate Church was successful in organizing the ride and collecting donations from more than twenty merchants from around North Alabama. Winfield First UMC member works to make local park more accessible

Photo from Its-Time-to-Change-Something Facebook page.   Recently, a young member of Winfield First UMC was featured in an ABC 33/40 news story for her efforts to raise money to add an adult-sized changing table to a local park bathroom to help it be fully handicap accessible. Wren Williamson is taking on this community project for Girl Scouts. She has a goal of raising $2,700 by the end of February and is already halfway there.
