Carraway sale final; Pastoral Care and Counseling looks for new home


On Nov. 15, 2006, a group of doctors and a Nashville development company, collectively known as Physicians Medical Center, completed their purchase of Carraway Methodist Medical Center. The group had made the highest bid for the hospital during an auction on Nov. 7. BIRMINGHAM,  AL - About 80 church leaders, volunteers, Board members, staff, children  and community friends attended the August 26 groundbreaking ceremony  for a new Transitional Living Home in Cottondale, AL. United Methodist Children's Home Welcomes Interim CEO


SELMA, AL - Rev. Joe Lisenby of Greenville, AL, is the new Interim President and CEO of the United Methodist Children's Home, Alabama and West Florida. Board Chair Luke Coley of Mobile, AL, made the announcement. Rev. Lisenby began overseeing the agency on July 22. "I am grateful to God for giving us someone of Joe's caliber and experience to lead us through this transition," said Coley, who was elected Chair of the Children's Home Board on July 19. Sumatanga's McKinney-Atkins Conference Center suffers small fire


Sumatanga Camp and Retreat Center Executive Director Anne Horton reports that this morning, April 10, there was a small fire on the second floor of the McKinney-Atkins Conference Center.   After talking with the fire department, she said the fire was started when one of the three lights in the chandler located in the second floor hallway shorted out and sparked.
