On the weekend of May 11-12, 17 youth ministers completed the North Alabama Conference Academy for Student Ministry (ASM) training seminars. Students clean up during CoYM Mission day


On Saturday, May 5 students from churches throughout the North Alabama Conference gathered at Sumataga for the Council on Youth Ministry's annual Mission Work Day. The theme of the day was "Trash'n Trails" and the focus was to do clean-up and fix-up projects around Sumatanga. "We had a very successful day. Some of the youth from La Casa del Pueblo de Dios, the United Methodist Hispanic mission in Decatur, led by their pastor Rev. Encounter 2007: brings together hundreds of North Alabama youth for retreat in Gatlinburg Tennessee


  On Feb 23-25, more than 700 North Alabama Conference youth traveled with their church groups to Gatlinburg for the annual Encounter youth retreat.   The weekend included four worship services, two separate sessions of Encounter Groups, and a large block of free time for skiing, hiking, or just enjoying the city of Gatlinburg.   This year's high-energy retreat featured worship with the Steve Fee band,  artist Eric Timm, the drama group Ted and Lee and speaker Steve Fitzhugh.
