On Saturday, September 26, 2020, North Alabama United Methodists gathered in front of computers, tablets, cell phones and other internet-connect screens for their first virtual Annual Conference.
The theme of the 2010 North Alabama Conference is Effective Leadership.
During the Service of Ordination of Deacons and Elders at Canterbury UMC, 1 Deacon and 10 Elders were ordained. The Ordination of one additional Elder was also recognized.
The Saturday of Annual Conference 2010 featured guest teacher Rev. Adam Hamilton. Over three sessions he taught about effective leadership, worship and preaching and evangelism. The day ended with the Service of Commissioning.
Annual Conference 2010 opened with a family picnic. There were committee meetings and a dialogue session for those interested in being delegates to General and Jurisdictional Conferences in 2012. The evening closed with the annual Memorial Service remembering those clergy and clergy spouses that died in the last year.
The 2011 North Alabama Conference began with the Memorial Service to remember clergy and clergy spouses who have died in the last year. Rev. Reagin Brown was the preacher.
