On Jan. 14, 2018, United Methodists will celebrate God’s call to empower those struggling to thrive and equip change agents and others to transform the world.
Known as Human Relations Day, this is one of six churchwide Special Sundays with offerings of The United Methodist Church. The special offering benefits neighborhood ministries through Community Developers, community advocacy through United Methodist Voluntary Services and work with at-risk teens through the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program. The ministry of North Alabama’s Community Enabler Developer in Anniston Maudine Holloway is one recipient of this annual special offering.
United Methodists celebrate Human Relations Day on the Sunday before the national observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
