Human Relations Day will be Jan. 14, 2018 — resources now available

12/10/2017

On Jan. 14, 2018, United Methodists will celebrate God’s call to empower those struggling to thrive and equip change agents and others to transform the world.

Known as Human Relations Day, this is one of six churchwide Special Sundays with offerings of The United Methodist Church. The special offering benefits neighborhood ministries through Community Developers, community advocacy through United Methodist Voluntary Services and work with at-risk teens through the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program. The ministry of North Alabama’s Community Enabler Developer in Anniston Maudine Holloway is one recipient of this annual special offering.

United Methodists celebrate Human Relations Day on the Sunday before the national observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

To make it easy for congregations to celebrate this Special Sunday, the Human Relations Day leader and pastor’s kit is now available. This includes everything you need to promote this Special Sunday and inspire generosity.

Your congregation can also Ooder leaflet offering envelopes and posters to enhance your Human Relations Day celebration at UMCgiving.org/ss or call 888‑346‑3862.

Your generous gifts through the Human Relations Day offering support the Community Developers Program, United Methodist Voluntary Services and the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program.
