Message from Bishop Wallace-Padgett: Fountain of Love

1/10/2018

Dear Friends,

Jesus was sensitive to the needs of those on the margins of life, including the elderly, the poor and the orphaned. I count it a joy to participate in God’s work through supporting various missions and ministries that reach out to people in these life situations. We are incredibly thankful for all ministries serving the senior adults in our communities. One such ministry is the Fountain of Love Fund at Fair Haven and the other Methodist Homes in Alabama and Northwest Florida.

Fair Haven is a place where elders are cherished as they can continue to pursue their dreams, set new goals, and find purpose in daily life, while remaining close to the health support they need. From time to time, one of our elders will come to the end of his or her personal resources and need financial assistance. If there are no federal and state assistance programs to help cover the cost, it is the Fountain of Love Fund that steps in to take up the slack.

I encourage you to join me in praying for our elders at Fair Haven and in supporting the Fountain of Love. Some churches emphasize the Fountain of Love offering in February and others in May. Go to http://www.methodist-homes.org/Fountain_of_Love.html for more information.

As always, it is a privilege to serve as your Bishop.

Blessings,
Debra Wallace-Padgett
Resident Bishop
