Chili Cookoff raises more than $10,000 for UMRA

The first-ever River City Charity Chili Cookoff in Decatur to benefit United Methodist Residential Alternatives (UMRA) was a tremendous success raising more than $10,000 for this ministry.

On Saturday, February 21, approximately 350 people gathered at Ingall’s Harbor in Decatur for fun, prizes, music and chili-sampling.

UMRA and its volunteer “chili board” plan to make this an annual event.

UMRA is a North Alabama Conference Advanced Special and provides residential and day services to persons with developmental disabilities.
