Riverchase UMC serves community through Habitat for Humanity

On Saturday, February 28, 2009, as many in Central and North Alabama were preparing for snow, 30 members of Riverchase United Methodist volunteered their day to work on a local home with Habitat for Humanity.

The group was led by Birmingham-Southern Professor Dr. Clint E. Bruess, In a message to the group he said, “We had 30 people there from Riverchase UMC, and I think the Habitat for Humanity folks were a little surprised with our number and also with the many things the group accomplished.  You were all wonderful, and a group of very good and talented workers.  I think the project manager was also impressed with the talent of the group.”

Rev. Jim Savage, senior minister of Riverchase United Methodist, notes that Habitat is one of many local and foreign missions with which the congregation is involved.
