Vestavia Hills Celebrates Record Number for Vacation Bible Camp

A great week of Bible fun was evident at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church as the congregation welcomed more than 620 children for Vacation Bible Camp on June 8-12, 2009.

The week long ministry also included more than 200 youth and adults in ministry to share God’s Word through crafts, snacks, music, recreation, science and Bible reflection time.

Each day began with an exciting assembly at Camp E.D.G.E. and then on to the highlight of the day as the church’s clergy presented the Bible story through drama.

This record number of children was a blessing to the congregation all week and continued through Sunday morning as the children shared songs with the worshipping community.

The Vestavia Hills UMC congregation celebrates the gift of bringing as many children into the Kingdom every week of the year but is grateful for the opportunity of Vacation Bible Camp each year when their church family can gather all of its resources for God’s Glory.
