Upper Sand Mountain Parish celebrating “40 Years of Miracles on the Mountain”

Upper Sand Mountain Parish is excited to be celebrating “40 Years of Miracles on the Mountain” in 2009.

Upper Sand Mountain Parish is a cooperative parish of local United Methodist churches that was established in June 1969. Serving 1,000 square miles of Sand Mountain in Jackson and Dekalb Counties, the Parish has played a vital role in helping to meet the needs of those in this rural setting. As an Advance Special of both the North Alabama Conference and the General Board of Global Ministries, it is people across the Methodist connection that make these missions possible.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary, there will be an Open House Celebration held at the Upper Sand Mountain Parish’s Ministry Center (24474 AL Hwy 75) in Sylvania on Saturday, October 17, 2009, beginning at 5:30 PM. There will be food, fun, and fellowship for everyone! During the night, 40 people will share 40 memories from the years of work done through Upper Sand Mountain Parish.

Everyone is invited to the Upper Sand Mountain Parish and friends for this time of praise. Come be a part of the celebration of the past and visioning for the future.

If you would like more information or need directions to join us, call the Ministry Center at (256) 638-2126 or email to usmp@farmerstel.com .
