The North Alabama Annual Conference 2010 will be June 3-5, 2010, at ClearBranch United Methodist Church. The theme this year will focus on the Conference priority of Effective Leadership. The featured speaker will be Rev. Adam Hamilton pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas.
As plans for Annual Conference 2010 are underway, the deadline draws near for reports to be submitted for this year’s Annual Conference session.
Below are the Guidelines for Reporting for Conference ministry teams, committees, agencies, and Advance Specials. The deadline for reports to be submitted to be included in the Journal vol. 1 (Pre-Conference Book) is February 1, 2010.
Conference Vision: Every church challenged and equipped to grow more disciples of Jesus Christ by taking risks and changing lives.
1) New Congregations
2) Natural Church Development
3) Effective Leadership
4) Empowering a New Generation
5) Transforming the World through Missions and Justice
All reports submitted for publication in the Journal vol. 1 (also known as the Pre-Conference Book) for 2010 should be submitted prior to Monday, February 1, 2010.
Reports should be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document and attached in an email to the following email address:
Include “Pre-Conference Report” in the subject line and request a “read receipt” to ensure delivery.
All reports received are included in Journal vol. 1 (Pre-Conference Book) at the discretion of the Director of Connectional Ministries. Any reports received after the report deadline will be received at the discretion of the Director of Connectional Ministries due to publishing requirements.
For a report to be included in the Journal vol. 1 (Pre-Conference Book) it must specifically address how the board, agency, committee, team, ministry, mission, or institution is helping the annual conference achieve its vision through at least one or more of the conference priorities. Since the annual conference exists to challenge and equip every local church in growing more disciples, your report may also indicate how you are interacting with local churches to assist them in growing more disciples by taking risks and changing lives.
A good report will focus on results—that is, how lives have been changed—and will demonstrate an awareness of and a commitment to the vision and priorities of the annual conference.
You may ask for a review of your report if it is submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org with “please review this report” in the subject line prior to January 25, 2010. If it is deemed not to meet the guidelines, the review will indicate specific reasons and you will have an opportunity to re-submit. The review will include a deadline for re-submission.
