Camp Sumatanga announces that Michael Coward will be its next Executive Director.
Michael comes to Camp with a strong hospitality background and a deep faith. He currently works for the Intercontinental Hotels Group serving as the General Manager of a Holiday Inn in Las Vegas. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of a large church and its affiliated school. Among many other outreach efforts, the church supports 18 international missionaries in 8 different countries.
Chair of Sumatanga’s Board of Trustees Mike Byrne says, “Michael brings excellent leadership skills to Camp coupled with the desire to build upon Camp’s rich history of being a place of rest and vision. Michael has the ability to build strategic and operational plans and then execute those plans. We look forward to Michael joining Camp Sumatanga.”
Michael is a strong family man and will be joined at Camp with his wife (Hilary) and their four children, Michael Jr 16, Nicholas 12, Madison 8 and Morgan 3. Hilary currently owns her own Human Resources consulting company and previously was Vice President of Human Resources for a major corporation.
Michael will assume his new responsibilities as Executive Director of Sumatanga on June 3, 2010.
