This week the Appointive Cabinet of the North Alabama Conference is in session. The main focus of their meeting will be determining clergy appointments for North Alabama Conference congregations. However, the process of determining clergy appointments stretches beyond Cabinet Meetings.
In the video below District Superintendent of the Northeast District Rev. Dale Cohen and Associate District Superintendent of the Northeast District Rev. Sherill Clontz, explain the multifaceted process of how clergy appointments are made in North Alabama.
The Cabinet is committed to equip congregations to grow more disciples of Jesus Christ. The procedure used to determine clergy appointments includes learning the strengths and needs of congregations and the strengths and needs of pastors while also considering the overall needs of all congregations of the North Alabama Conference. The clergy appointment process includes consultation and informing clergy and congregations of changes. It also includes a process of helping clergy and congregations experiencing a pastoral change to make and carry out a transition plan and to tap into resources during the time of transition.
This video is 7:16 long and was produced by the Northeast District.
