Bishop Teaches Class for Fuller Seminary in Birmingham

Many of North Alabama's best pastors have earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in order to prepare themselves for innovative church leadership. Next February 13-17, Bishop Willimon will again teach a Doctor of Ministry course for Fuller Seminary at the United Methodist Center in Birmingham.

"I've enjoyed teaching at Fuller," said Bishop Willimon. "They have high academic standards and one of the most diverse constituencies. They have agreed to allow me to teach this course in Birmingham and I hope that many of our clergy, particularly those who are currently enrolled in D.Min. programs, will sign up for the course."

The course will be entitled, "Theology for Preaching." Bishop Willimon's book, Proclamation and Theology (Abingdon Press) is widely used in seminaries. During the course students will evaluate how theology works in preaching and how Christian doctrine influences Christian preaching. Any pastor may sign up for the course through Fuller Seminary by contacting the Dean in charge of Doctor of Ministry Programs at
