Red Ridge UMC Hosts UMCH White Christmas Event for District

On September 22, Red Ridge UMC hosted a United Methodist Children’s Home special event to kick off White Christmas campaign in the Southeast District. Guests were treated to Italian Night and warm hospitality.

Pastor David Carboni expressed the joy of Red Ridge in hosting the event and regularly supporting the United Methodist Children’s Home.

Ms. Cherry Johnson and UMCH Chaplain, Lonna Lynn Higgs, shared with representatives from various churches about the work and ministry of the Children’s Home. Ms. Johnson, UMCH Outreach Specialist for North Alabama presented certificates to churches for giving generously to the UMCH. They provided information on White Christmas, shared a video and inspired the crowd to participate fully in the 2012 White Christmas.

James and Corene Lackey entertained the guests to Country/Bluegrass Gospel music. Among their songs was one written especially for the occasion. The Lackey’s are key participants in the non-profit Weogufka Center for Arts, Entertainment & Education and members of Parkdale UMC.
