Hayden UMC celebrates special Maundy Thursday service

4/17/2012

For the past five years, Hayden UMC has held a special Maundy Thursday service. Church members dress in costume to reenact the Lord's Supper. The aim of the service is to show the congregation what it might have been like for Jesus and his disciples in the Upper Room. At the conclusion of the reenactment, communion was served.

"What a powerful service," reported Rev. Ron Howard, pastor of Hayden UMC. "We followed with a Tenabrae Service on Good Friday, and sunrise service on Easter. Our Holy Week was filled with wonderful worship."
