Birmingham-Southern College presents its Symphonic Band in Concert on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Alabama Theatre.
This is the first performance at the historic Alabama Theatre for the Birmingham-Southern College Symphonic Band. Under the direction of Benjamin C. Posey, Director of Bands and Music Education Programs, the ensemble will perform wind and percussion music representing a varied repertoire of literature.
This concert is free of charge and open to the public.
Posey says, “This will be a great concert for families and I would love to see a good turn out of churches traveling together to support our students!”
He adds, “It would also be a good opportunity for Methodist students interested in BSC to see another aspect of what we do at the college; and it's FREE!”
Posey also notes that there is no reserved seating for the concert. However, if a church group, such as a senior adult group, needs accessible seating, the group leader can contact him and he will work to have seating for the group available on the bottom floor.
Doors will open one hour before the event.
