St. Mark UMC staff dress as Wizard of Oz characters for Fall Festival

On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, the staff of St. Mark UMC in Northport, welcomed the children and families that are enrolled in the Noah’s Ark Preschool Program wearing full costumes depicting The Wizard of Oz.  Pictures were made with children as they arrived for their day of fun and fellowship.

The characters represented were Tin Man (Rev. Byron Fair), Scarecrow (Ellis Houston), The Lion (Jacob Tucker), Glinda (Summer Cockrell), The Wicked Witch (Samantha Mahloch), Dorothy (Melanie Burkhalter-Noah’s Ark Director), The Yellow Brick Road (Rev. Michelle Hunter) and The Great Oz (Rev. John Verciglio).

Staff members were also a part of the evening’s Fall Festival where children, youth and adults alike came in their favorite costumes to enjoy decorated church doors, candy treats, cakewalks, airbrush tattooing, games and cookie decorating.  The night was rounded out with the Family Life Center filled with inflatable bounces, slides, and jousting ring.

The Fall Festival is an annual event at St. Mark UMC usually held on the Wednesday evening prior to October 31st.
