February 1 is deadline for written Reports, Petitions and Resolutions for Annual Conference 2014

The North Alabama Annual Conference will be June 1-4, 2014, on the campus of Birmingham-Southern College. The theme this year will be "Plant: Grounded in Christ."

Although the meeting will not take place until June, the Annual Conference planning team is already months into its planning of this time of Christian Conferencing.  

In an effort to help the process of creating a meaningful Annual Conference experience, the  Annual Conference planning team, working with the Bishop and Cabinet, have set the following major deadlines to be the same date each year.  

  • February 1  - Deadline for all Annual Conference related information and ministry reports for PreConference Book (Journal vol. 1)
     
  • February 1 - Deadline for Petitions and Resolutions to be submitted the Annual Conference Secretary
     
  • March 1 - Online Reservations for Annual Conference goes live [Reservations will be open from March 1 to May 15 each year.]
     
  • May 15 - Deadline for Annual Conference reservations
     
  • May 20 - Deadline for report & announcements media and AV portions
     
  • July 1  - Deadline for all information to be included in Journal vol. 2
     

If you are part of a Conference ministry team, agency or ministry partner, please note the deadline to turn in reports and announcement information to be printed in the PreConference Book is February 1.  To submit a report, see information below. 

February 1 is also the deadline for all Petitions and Resolutions to be brought before the body of the North Alabama Annual Conference. To submit a petition or resolution, see the information below. 

 

Ministry Reports

All reports and information submitted for publication in the Journal Volume 1 (Pre-Conference Book) for 2014 should be submitted no later than February 1, 2014, as a Microsoft Word Document and attached in an email to the following email address:

acreports@umcna.org

Include "Pre-Conference Report" in the subject line.

All reports received are included in the PreConference Book at the discretion of the Director of Connectional Ministries and/or the Conference Secretary. Any reports received after the report deadline will be received at the discretion of the Director of Connectional Ministries and/or the Conference Secretary due to publishing requirements.

You may ask for a review of your report if it is submitted to the above email address prior to the deadline. If it is deemed not to meet the guidelines, the review will indicate specific reasons and you will have an opportunity to re-submit. The review will include a deadline for re-submission.

Any reports not received by the deadline may be considered for inclusion in the registration packet at the discretion of the Director of Connectional Ministries and/or the Conference Secretary. If approved you team should provide 1,500 copies and assistance in stuffing the registration packets in late May.


Petitions and Resolutions

All Petitions and Resolutions must also be submitted no later than February 1, 2014, per our Conference Standing Rules (See Call to Mission and Ministry para 8.1 (f) ). Petitions and Resolutions should be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document and attached in an email to the Conference Secretary at the following email addresses:

acreports@umcna.org and clauzell.williams@umcna.org

Include "Petitions and Resolutions" in the subject line and request a "read receipt" to ensure delivery.
