Contagious is a conference designed for anyone who works with children in a church setting. If you teach Sunday school, lead a small group, help with VBS, lead a choir, help with mid-week programing volunteer in the nursery, or ANYTHING involving children’s ministry, you will benefit from attending Contagious. But more importantly…the children you serve will benefit from your attendance because you will become better at what you do.
We are so blessed to have a leadership family for Contagious 2013. Jim Wideman will be our keynote presenter and his daughter, Yancy, will lead worship. Jim is a native of north Alabama and grew up attending West End UMC in Birmingham. From that foundation, he has become a speaker, teacher, author, leadership coach and ministry consultant as well as local church minister. Jim has trained hundreds of thousands of children’s and student ministry leaders from all denominations and sizes of congregations around the world. He has received several awards for his work in children’s ministry, the most recent being the “Legacy Award” presented by INCM for his lifetime achievement in Children’s Ministry. Jim currently oversees all the Next Generation & Family Ministries-birth through colleg- at World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
Jim and his wife Julie, have two successful daughters, and we are excited to announce that the oldest will join us at Contagious. Yancy has shared the stage with Nichole Nordeman, Mute Math, Newsboys, Sonicflood, 4Him, The Waiting, Plumb and many others. At Contagious 2013 she will own the stage, rock the house, and lead us in worship at each main session.
In addition to a knowledgeable speaker and experienced worship leader, Contagious offers a plethora of breakout sessions to accommodate a wide variety of issues faced by children’s workers today. Each session will be led by a local children’s minister who experiences the same issues you do. So gather your team, make your plans, and register today at www.northalabamaumc.org/children. Click the Contagious icon and follow the links to registration. If you do it before November 15, you and your team will be registered to attend the Early-bird workshops for FREE!
