First week of the appointment-making process

2/7/2013

Dear Friends,

The District Superintendents and I have completed our first week of the appointment-making process. I am pleased with the progress we made. The majority of our time was spent on discussing the needs and strengths of our North Alabama churches and clergy.

You can compare the kind of work that we did this week to the exegesis that precedes writing a sermon. Giving time and attention to understanding the text leads to a strong sermon. Likewise, focusing on understanding the moving clergy/receiving churches leads to effective appointment-making.

Many of you have expressed to the Appointive Cabinet that you are praying for us. Thank you for your continued prayers for God’s guidance throughout the appointment process.

Blessings,
Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett
