There are multiple retreats in preparation for appointing pastors each conference year. One of these retreat sessions was held at Camp Sumatanga on March 9th and 10th. In preparation for that retreat, and indeed, as part of the spiritual foundation undergirding the appointment process, Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett and her Cabinet worshipped with Sweet Home UMC congregation at their morning worship on Sunday, March 9th. Rev. Dedric Cowser is pastor of the congregation.

Commenting on the visit, Rev. Cowser writes, “The Sweet Home congregation and I were both excited and honored to host Bishop Wallace-Padgett and the Cabinet. It was such a wonderful day of worship and celebrating some of the amazing work and ministries happening at Sweet Home. Most of all, we are grateful for the support of our Bishop and Cabinet as we seek to reach new people for Jesus Christ.”

The worship was Spirit filled with dynamic preaching and melodious singing. Bishop Wallace-Padgett addressed the congregation briefly and encourage them in their ministry. This was also a special recognition Sunday and members of the staff received plaques of appreciation.
