5/30/2019

After an extensive and rigorous search led by the Search Committee of the McCoy Adult Day Care Board of Directors, they are proud to announce that Lauren Goodman has accepted the position of Executive Director to begin June 3, 2019.

Lauren has a host of personal and professional achievements.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Alabama and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She previously worked for McCoy as Program Director before joining another local nonprofit as a Business Development Manager.

The Board of Directors are confident that Lauren’s talents, gifts, leadership skills, and experience as our Executive Director will continue the organization’s success and move McCoy’s mission forward for years to come.

Judy Poole, McCoy’s long-standing  Executive Director will retire later this year.   The Governing Board has invited Judy to stay engaged with the organization to help Lauren get on board. “We’re forever grateful for Judy’s deep contributions to the organization,” said Laura Sisson, president of the McCoy Adult Day Care Board of Directors. “Judy has built many strong and vital relationships throughout our community to further McCoy’s mission and bring awareness to our program.”

The search consultant, Melva Tate of Tate & Associates, LLC.; the McCoy Adult Day Care staff and board; and key funders including James McCrary, Independent Consultant, the Beeson Trust of Canterbury UMC, the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and the Hill Crest Foundation were a crucial part of the decision-making process.

For over 30-years, the McCoy Adult Day Care Center has provided a high-quality on-site adult day care program.  The program includes supervision, health screening, nutrition, therapeutic activities, exercise and lots of love.

As the organization’s new Executive Director, Lauren’s focus will be to expand the agency’s impact by increasing program awareness and engaging a broader swath of community partners.
