Discover. Develop. Deploy. These three words sum up the mission of the North Alabama Conference. We discover lay and clergy spiritual leaders in a variety of ways and places. We develop spiritual leaders through training, mentoring, cohorts and other means of leadership development. We deploy leaders to serve in our churches, communities and other ministry contexts.
The Conference Nominations Team emphasizes all three aspects of our mission throughout the course of the year. This team consists of the District Superintendents and District Lay Leaders and is chaired by the resident Bishop. Director of Connectional Ministries Linda Holland and Leadership Development Administrator John Fleischauer work diligently to assist in managing the nominating process in a fair and efficient way.
Every four years we have a significant number of transitions off and on the quadrennial teams. This fall the Nominations Team is highlighting the Discovery phase of our mission by identifying spiritual leaders who will serve on leadership teams for the next quadrennium beginning July 1, 2020. In addition to receiving names for this pool from District Operational Teams, we are encouraging clergy and laity of our churches to self-nominate. The names of nominees will go into a leadership pool to be considered for various roles.
Below is an outline of the Nominations Team timeline and process over the next several months. If you sense that God may be calling you to serve on a Conference Team during the coming quadrennium, please help the Nominating Committee with its discovery work by completing a self-nominating form.
As always it is a privilege to serve as your bishop.
