Glory Sightings This Week (Week of Sunday, June 21, 2015)

North Alabama Conference congregations are now sharing Glory Sightings as part of their Weekly Benchmark Report. This is an opportunity to share a brief statement of how God is at work in the church and community. The practice of regularly sharing Glory Sightings becomes a time of encouragement as we are reminded that God is always at work. It is a reminder to stop, pay attention and give thanks.
We celebrate all that God is doing in North Alabama. Highlights of Glory Sightings shared include the following:
Congregations are in ministry with children, youth and their families sharing the Gospel and helping young people to grow as spiritual leaders.
Lincoln (CH District) — WE had our RENEW Youth Week where we had 25+ youth and college students serve, worship and play together! God brought forth healing in broken teenagers, repentance of sexual sin, and renewal of life purpose in Christ their Lord!
Crossville First (ML District) — Purchased another van to help pick up for Wednesday night children's ministry.
Springville First (ML District) — Youth Mission Team of 12 youth and youth leaders spent the week ministering at Mountain TOP.
St. Mary's (ML District) — VBS had a great time children were taught various scriptures about Jesus life.
Trinity (ML District) — Glorious report from youth campers.
New Heights (SC District) — Thanking God for the 80+ children reached and seeds planted this week through New Heights' VBS.
Haven Chapel (SE District) — We just completed our 2nd week of summer camp and we have 19 campers enrolled, 6 youth volunteers, and three staff members. We have feed over 100 breakfast and over 200 lunches. No child goes hungry during the summer.
Lineville First (SE District) — Our First "Family Fun Night" (one-night-VBS) of the summer was a success! We enjoyed learning about Baby Moses. Looking forward to next month's Family Fun Night on Miriam!
Christ Harbor (SW District) — World Changers - 255 youth used our church for worship.
Fayette First (SW District) — Two professions of faith at Bible school. Great Bible school over 60 kinds.
Congregations are sharing the love of Jesus Christ with their neighbors in tangible ways.
Cotaco (NE District) — We had our Open Food Pantry this past Saturday and we joined by Somerville Methodist to serve 74 families representing 174 people. We have built relationships with these people, and they come praising God and needing prayer. Thanks be to God for this ministry.
Grace (NE District) — We commissioned 17 servants from Grace for a mission trip to Costa Rica. Exciting day!
Somerville (NE District) — Four ministry teams at work in the community this week!
Aliceville First (SW District) — 30 attended our Celebrate Recovery Ministry Sunday night - our largest crowd thus far. The ministry began in March.
River of Living Water (SW District) — 79 family served out of Feed My Sheep food bank.
Nauvoo (SW District) — Christian's Place Mission served 269 people on Saturday, June 20, 2015
Mt. Olive (CE District) — 37 families served at our food pantry
Pinson (CE District) — Our food pantry continues to help our neighbors. 80 people were supplied food.
Congregations are welcoming new people and celebrating professions of faith.
Hokes Bluff (ML District) — A wonderful VBS last week. Two new members this Sunday. Praise the Lord!
St. Paul (ML District) — The entire church responded to the altar call.
Christ Church (SC District) — We celebrate 1 member recommitting their life to Christ!
Lakeview-Pelham's First (SC District) — Jayda Nicole Hope was baptized in Lakeview's lake
St. Andrews (CE District) — One infant baptism, one child baptism.
Lakeview (SC District) continues to see God work in the lives of new believers.
