In the age of Ferguson, Missouri, an age marked with suspicion and division, can you imagine a city truly united? Can you imagine people of all races and backgrounds gathering together to serve those in need? Can you imagine local businesses, non-profits and churches working together to make the Magic City into a magical place to live? If you would like to imagine that, then imagine the Magic City Miracle.
Created by one of our local Methodist churches, the Magic City Miracle unites all aspects of our city in service to the poor, the elderly and the most vulnerable among us. This year’s event scheduled September 27, will be led by Canterbury UMC, Lake-view Pelham UMC, Liberty Crossings UMC, Trinity Homewood and Vestavia Hills UMC. With the endorsement and support of our Bishop, Debbie Wallace-Padgett, the event has grown each year and now features local sponsors like Serra Toyota, Alabama Power, ALTEC, Bradley Arant, Hygia Health Services & WJOX’s The Opening Drive.
