Magic City Miracle to be Sept. 27, 2015

Unifying the Magic City.  Touching Thousands of Lives!

  • Imagine unchurched folks looking for your church!
  • Imagine being known as the church that is making your community a better place!
  • Imagine your church being a household name in your community.
  • Imagine Magic City Miracle.

In the age of Ferguson, Missouri, an age marked with suspicion and division, can you imagine a city truly united?  Can you imagine people of all races and backgrounds gathering together to serve those in need?  Can you imagine local businesses, non-profits and churches working together to make the Magic City into a magical place to live?  If you would like to imagine that, then imagine the Magic City Miracle.

Created by one of our local Methodist churches, the Magic City Miracle unites all aspects of our city in service to the poor, the elderly and the most vulnerable among us.  This years event scheduled September 27, will be led by Canterbury UMC, Lake-view Pelham UMC, Liberty Crossings UMC, Trinity Homewood and Vestavia Hills UMC.  With the endorsement and support of our Bishop, Debbie Wallace-Padgett, the event has grown each year and now features local sponsors like Serra Toyota, Alabama Power, ALTEC, Bradley Arant, Hygia Health Services & WJOX’s The Opening Drive.

If you want an easy way to mobilize your church for local missions, this opportunity is for you!  Visit our webpage or contact event organizer, Scott Comas, for more information at .

If you have a project you would like listed, please email Margaret Ann Mayfield at .

Don’t live in Birmingham?   No problem!  Let our team assist you in creating AND branding an event for your area.  It will get your church’s name into the local media and allow you impact in your community.  Past experience has been that it also attracts unchurched folks to come and visit United Methodist churches!

Here is an invitation to share with your congregation:

What makes Birmingham the “Magic City?”  YOU DO!

Join friends and neighbors to fan out in a city-wide day of service.  Over 150 projects are planned to bring hope and restoration to show Christ’s love in our communities, including hunger relief, community clean-ups and more!

On Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, the 4th annual Magic City Miracle will take place in and around Birmingham. It will be a day when United Methodists pour out into the communities of Birmingham and surrounding areas and show the love of Christ to all people.

If you are in the Birmingham area and would like to see the projects available and sign-up to volunteer, please go to:

There’s no sleight of hand in this magic…just many hands working to make a better Birmingham.
