The North Alabama Conference Mission budget provides grant funds for new mission projects and continuing projects with connections to the United Methodist Church. New and emerging ministries as well as existing ministries specifically engaged in mission managed by mission agencies, local United Methodist Churches, Cooperative Parishes, Advance Specials and other affiliated mission programs are invited to apply for funding. Continuing ministries that have received grant monies in the past may apply, but the committee wants to see that ministry not continually rely on North Alabama grant funding.
The North Alabama Conference Mission team seeks to support those programs that are partnering with United Methodist Churches to make disciples for Jesus Christ across the conference and around the world. The following are the mission areas that serve as criteria for funding:
Applications will be received through Oct. 1, 2018. All the required documentation should be in the office by the deadline. It is up to the ministry/organization to make sure that paperwork is submitted on time not our office. Failure to meet the deadline will result in denial. Grants normally range from $500 to $3,000 per project.
Please note that the committee looks to fund new ministries, or ministries that align themselves with the conference's mission and vision statements (see above). Continuing ministries that have received grant monies in the past may apply, but the committee wants to see that ministry not continually rely on North Alabama grant funding.
Approved grants will be sent in installments determined by the total amount. A Grant Recipient Report will be sent with your first installment and should be completed and return by the date indicated on the Report.
Any application received in our office after this date will not be considered for funding by the Mission Resource Team for this grant cycle and will be returned to the applicant.
