Urban Ministry's annual fund raiser, Table of Hope, is an opportunity for supporters of their work to gather to celebrate, share a gourmet dinner, and bid on valuable items donated for silent auction. Table of Hope guests will enjoy a delightful evening emceed by Urban Ministry Board Member and FOX6 News Anchor Janet Hall. Doors at The Club in Homewood will open at 5:30 p.m. for bidding, and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and program at 7 p.m.
This year, attendees are in for a treat with guest speaker Barbara Dooley, wife of former University of Georgia head coach Vince Dooley, and mother to Dallas Cowboys receivers coach Derek Dooley. A widely sought-after speaker, Barbara shares inspirational stories with her own special brand of Southern charm and hilarity, and always leaves her audiences rolling with laughter with captivating tales of mischief and mayhem behind the scenes of college football. Founded in 1976, Urban Ministry, Inc. serves thousands of people in need with programs of compassion and wholeness. Compassion programs address immediate needs such as utilities payment assistance, emergency food boxes and homelessness prevention, and transportation assistance for seniors, while wholeness programs address long-term needs like after school programs for children, health care, community gardening/healthy eating and living.
