9/6/2014

The Annual Gathering of the Orders and Fellowship of Local Pastors and Associate Members will be at Sumatanga Camp and Conference Center on Oct. 20-22, 2014. This event is for North Alabama elders, deacons, associate members, and local pastors.

The featured resource person is Dr. Robert Mulholland, former professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary. He is the author of several books, including Shaped by the Word (Upper Room) and the landmark spiritual formation book Invitation to a Journey (IVP).

This year’s schedule not only includes times for learning, community and fellowship,  it includes time clergy may use as reflective time in one of the designated Quiet Spaces throughout the grounds of Sumatanga such as Vespers Trail, Lake Trail, Nina Reeves Chapel, and Hutto Prayer Chapel.

There is also an option to participate in a Wednesday afternoon service project to help make camp a more beautiful place. This will be coordinated by the Sumatanga volunteer office. Those interested in participating should bring work clothes and gloves, and plan to stay as long as you can.
