The priority deadline for Christian Vocation Scholarships is Jan. 28, 2015. For all other scholarships the priority
deadline is Feb. 1, 2015.
Laura B. Sisson, BSC Director of the Office of Church Relations, says, “In particular we hope pastors and congregations will encourage youth in whom you see gifts for ministry to apply for Christian vocation scholarships. The Christian Vocation Scholarship Day is Saturday, February 7.”

Christian Vocation Scholarship Day
Birmingham-Southern College invites graduating seniors discerning the call to Christian vocation in The United Methodist Church to interview for tuition scholarships supporting vocation and ministry. All scholarship recipients participate in the Programs for Ministry through the Office of Church Relations, which includes internships in a variety of church experiences and covenant relationships for continued discernment.
Deadline for completed application to be received by BSC is Jan. 28, 2015.
Interviews will be Feb. 7, 2015
The Elizabeth Henry Evins Scholarship for Christian Vocation
provides tuition assistance for students responding to the call of God to ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church. Vocational calls may be to age-level ministries, mission leadership, and others. Recipients participate in the Programs for Ministry through the Office of Church Relations which includes internships in a variety of church experiences and covenant relationships for continued discernment.
United Methodist Ministerial Student Scholarships
provide tuition assistance to students called of God and committed to ordination and pastoral ministry in the local church. Recipients participate in the Programs for Ministry through the Office of Church Relations including ministry internships and covenant partnerships.
- be discerning the call to ministry
- be able to articulate a personal theology
- be an active member of a United Methodist Church
- complete the attached form
- submit a letter of recommendation from their pastor
- submit a letter of recommendation from a member of the church

8:30 a.m. welcome and continental breakfast- Berte Humanities Building
9:00 a.m. orientation to scholarship program and process
9:30 a.m. interviews begin for individual applicants campus tours begin
12:00 noon lunch and Q&A with faculty, family members invited
